Case Study: TBI Manufacturing Limited

About

TBI Manufacturing Limited began trading over 30 years ago and specialise in all aspects of metal fabrication and forming.  Operating from in excess of 50,000sq feet of factory space in Mildenhall, Suffolk, TBI Manufacturing are able to offer tube manipulation, laser cutting, fabrication, powder coating and assembly.

The Challenge

The relationship with Consultus began in 2017, when TBI Manufacturing were seeking a new supplier for their power and gas.  As a large energy user, they were keen to uncover significant cost savings that could be made and learn more about the ever-changing energy market.

TBI wanted to be able to plan for any potential energy price increases and forecast effectively.

The Solution

After discussions with the client, Consultus were able to provide valuable energy market updates which would enable them to make an informed decision about their energy contract. TBI Manufacturing worked with their dedicated Consultant who kept a close eye on the market to ensure that the best price available to the client was secured. A contract was put in place until 2025 which gave TBI Manufacturing price security and allowed them to forecast costs for a 24 month period. Consultus also advised them to install Automatic Meter Readings (AMR) for their gas which would give them further accuracy around billing and give actual consumption rather than an estimate.

“Consultus have been proactive in keeping me updated on the ever-changing energy market and have helped the business to forecast budgets, allowing us to plan for any potential energy price increases far more effectively.  Our Consultant, Simon, is always on hand to assist with questions and queries, providing a clear breakdown of costs to avoid any confusion.  He also recommended that we install gas automated meter readings to give further accuracy around billing.  More recently, Consultus have been on-hand to provide advice to support our Net Zero journey as we work towards our carbon reduction goals.”
